Christmas came early for us (and our tummies) this year!

We got an early preview of Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa’s Christmas buffet, and boy did we get ourselves into a deep food coma.

Inspired by the fantastical world of ‘The Greatest Showman’, Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa is pulling out all the stops this year to give you “The Greatest Christmas Show”.

Starting from 29 November 2019 to 1 January 2020, you will be dazzled with awe-inspiring decorations, dining specials & gourmet treats, as well as scheduled festive activities and events that will surely get you into the holiday spirit!

From seafood platters and meat roasts to decked-out dessert tables and yummy cocktails, here’s what you can look forward to at The Resort Cafe’s decadent Christmas buffet:

1. The freshest seafood tower you’ve ever seen

Our jaws literally dropped. This was the first thing that caught our eye. It was an impressive mountain of fresh Irish oysters, scallops, abalone clams, green mussels, tiger prawns, squid, flower crabs, white clams, and bamboo clams!

For all you sashimi lovers, you’ll be happy to know that the spread is also lavishly decorated with thick slabs of tuna and salmon sashimi!

2. The classic, perfectly roasted brined turkey with dried fruit stuffing

It’s not Christmas without turkey! This year, Sunway Resort & Spa is celebrating tradition with a classical Christmas dinner. Both the dark and white meat of the turkey was juicy, savoury, and seasoned to perfection.

Enjoy it with the accompanying roasted vegetables, potatoes, giblet gravy, and cranberry-orange sauce.

3. A luxurious spread of slow-roasted wagyu beef striploin, oven-roasted wagyu beef karubi, and glazed wagyu ribs

Not only was it visually stunning, but everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection.

The meat was absolutely… SUC. CUL. LENT.

4. A variety of other Asian and Western-inspired dishes that will surely tantalise anyone’s taste buds

The spread includes slow-cooked duck breast with truffle jus, mussel-saffron broth, and baked tiger prawns with garlic butter.

It’s best if you take your time at the buffet and wear extra loose pants as there are so many things to savour!

5. An extravagant dessert table that’s filled with sweet treats, puddings, cookies, cakes, and even a macaron tower!

If you have a sweet tooth, this is gonna be your paradise.

Their delectable dessert selection includes raspberry eclairs, mango compote panna cotta, tiramisu, and Christmas favourites such as a chocolate and red velvet yule log cake.

In this pre-festive feast, guests can begin to indulge in an extensive seasonal menu of international and local spreads that include succulent turkey and Angus beef striploin roasts, as well as a variety of delicious desserts!
