Eminem: Relapse (Interscope/Universal)

Shady’s back after a 4-year hiatus, overcoming drug addiction, losing D12 friend and mentor Proof along the way. The ominous piano on ‘3am’ is the perfect reintroduction to Em’s twisted world. 5 minutes of breathtaking word play and imagery so graphic it would shame Stephen King should placate any doubts to whether Em still “has it”. Though the album feels unbalanced at times, Em’s doing what he does best – cleaning out his closet. And there’s enough psychotic sh*t in there to warrant over an hour of Shady’s trademark dark humour.
