In the summer of 2016, Donald Trump Jr. and several other members of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign reportedly met with a Russian lawyer who offered them some damaging information about former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The Washington Post claims that the meeting was allegedly arranged by a music publicist Rob Goldstone. Who is this Rob Goldstone bloke, you may ask? Well, besides being a music publicist, he also happens to have recently been the manager for a Russia-based pop singer, Emin Agalarov.
The plot only thickens from here on out. Emin Agalarov is the son of Moscow-based billionaire and mogul Aras Agalarov, who not only committed to building a Trump Tower in Russia prior to Trump’s run for the presidency (which goes against Trump’s constant assertions that he has no business interests in Russia), but also sponsored the Miss Universe Pageant in 2013. Aras Agalarov is also, according to the Washington Post, suspected to be Rob Goldstone’s “undisclosed Russian client” who requested that Goldstone set up the meeting in the first place. To make matters even more complicated, the lawyer that the Trump presidential team met up with has been identified as Natalia Veselnitskaya, who has close ties with the Kremlin itself.
What do these seemingly random pieces of fact have in common? Well, they all come together in Emin Agalarov’s music video for his single, ‘In Another Life’, released in late 2013. The video features the pop star fantasising about Miss Universe contestants who appear and disappear in his lush mansion, before he sadly wakes up to get fired at once by a very angry Donald Trump. The video also leads to the strong assumption that Trump does indeed have ties to the Kremlin, nebulous or not.
Only time will tell whether or not this assumption makes an ass out of Trump and/or the media, but until then, why not enjoy the incredibly cringe-worthy music video below?
