With some of the funniest and most creative ads on TV, you would expect the same of Digi’s parties. It seems that this telco is really trying to make a good impression and no more so than with boys and girls born in the months of October all the way through to December. As someone whose birth date falls during this 3 month period, Digi’s D’Ultimate Birthday should have been tailor-made for me.
Mad props to Digi for organising a bash of semi epic proportions. Liang and Hunny Madu were the first to walk down the red carpet into venue Bar Celona at Suway Pyramid, followed by Digi grand prize winners Nazroof Hakim and Nicole Aldeth Main. The show started with a choreographed performance by the Kuala Lumpur Dance Corps and b-boy group, Floor Fever. Was this JUICE writer tapping her feet to the beat of the drums? Must’ve been one Jagermeister shot too many.
Digi was certainly generous that night, dishing out a bounty of swag bags stuffed with gifts from Smirnoff, Rimmel London, ODM, Mooks and more. If these were just the door gifts we couldn’t imagine what prizes were still in store as Liang and Hunny Madu took the stage to host and play game masters.
After Digi’s Santa session was done, Hunny Madu took to the stage with 4 backup singers/dancers to sing a confused medley that began with something that sounded like it came from musical Puteri Gunung Ledang followed by Jeremih’s ‘Birthday Sex’ and ended with BEP’s ‘I Gotta Feeling’. I gotta feelin’ of being confused, that’s what.
Winners of 8TV’s Ultimate Power Group 2009 followed with their track, ‘Hug’, ‘Gemuruh’ and ‘Gimme5′, making way for Liang who debuted songs from his upcoming album. Digi revelers also got a tasty bit of Joey G who took over on the decks to spin some bangin’ tunes until well past bedtime. D’Ultimate or Dull-timate, I couldn’t decide but Digi sure did try. Either that or I must be growing soft with age.
