Banking on the hidden cocktail bar phenomenon that has swept Southeast Asia in recent years, ‘experiential specialists’ DCODE have added a new addition to Kuala Lumpur’s growing list of cocktail lounges. Refreshingly, the DCODE 1A Private Lounge does away with the #1 trope of hidden bars – its interior is decidedly modern and sleek rather than the expected facsimile of Prohibition Era speakeasies. Here, the bar – or rather, Science Lab as they termed it – caters to the palate of its individual patrons via three distinctive cocktail types; Strong, Smooth, and Fresh, all customisable. Meanwhile, those who prefer something less lounge-y can head downstairs where beats are provided by the bar’s resident DJ, fun can be had at the pool table, and new faces to get acquainted with are aplenty. Nestled somewhere along The Row (FKA the once infamous Heritage Row), its premises’ exact location is a secret – interested nightlife prospectors can head to www.dcode.my to find out how a personalised QR Code could unlock the hidden doorway to the lounge. Plan ahead, DCODE 1A Private Lounge is strictly limited to 100 guests per night.
DCODE 1A Private Lounge opens till Saturday 12 November ’16, and only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. For more, click here.
