Dan Black
The name Dan Black has been uttered from the lips of cynics and music enthusiasts in the UK with absolute admiration. Named BBC’s Sounds Of 2009, The Guardian has lready said this of him “he is going to be a massive star in 2009”. We’ve heard him and have to agree. His future funk sound with a staccato beat could be swamping TAG and Lapsap now.
The London-born former lead singer and guitarist of the indie band Servant, now resides in his Parisian basement putting the final touches to his EP that will be launched sometime in May. Although pretty fluid in the strumming department (Ed-ahem!), Black tends to uses sample beats as his backdrop. You say lazy, we say genius!
His cover of Biggy’s ‘Hpntz’ and his electronic pop single ‘Yours’ has stirred considerable interest, and we’re guessing his forthcoming EP will send us reeling to musical outer space. The other thing we love about him, is his kooky style and trippy music vidz. A man after our own heart we’re sure.
