Crossover, Compass Redefine Punk Aesthetic With An All-Black Hairy Suede Sneaker

Malaysia’s very own Crossover has linked up with Indonesian shoe brand COMPASS to release TRIBUNE CROSSOVER “THE SUBVERSION”, a collection that embodies raw, rebellious energy and pays homage to non-conformists.
Inspired by anarchist ideals
The collection aims to redefine punk aesthetics with bold looks and fearless storytelling, and at the heart of it all is an all-black hairy suede sneaker, accentuated with striking details.

The shoe is flanked by snakeskin-textured leather details, symbolising transformation and resilience—fitting, considering 2025 is the Year of the Snake. Adding extra comfort is a goat skin lining, as well as a premium rubber outsole crafted through a cementing process.
For an additional premium feel, you’ve got metal-tipped cotton laces and cushioned ankle support, as well as custom woven labels on the heel tabs, with one side featuring the COMPASS logo and the other with Crossover’s. Oh, and if you look behind the tongue, you’ll find a secret message embossed on the size tag.

Adding a bit of colour to the otherwise achromatic look of the shoes are graphic insoles that take inspiration from the archives of the legendary Godmother of Punk, Vivienne Westwood.

The collection also features a black t-shirt that reads, “ALL THE REVOLUTIONARIES ARE PRETTY” with “SEXY” in pink scribbled over the last word. Rounding things off is a pretty decently sized tote bag that features the same script.
Here’s a lookbook featuring Malaysian musician Noh Salleh:

The collection will have a limited release on 22 February. You can find it exclusively at Modular Store in Indonesia or at Crossover The Exchange TRX in Malaysia.
