Copeland: The Farewell Tour Live in KL @ Bentley Music Auditorium

There was a sense of irony and sadness at Copeland’s show in Mutiara Damansara last week. Sad, obviously because it’s the last time their fans will get to see Aaron Marsh, siblings Bryan and Stephen Laurenson, and Jonathan Bucklew perform as Copeland. Ironic, because it’s also the first and the last time they perform for Malaysian fans.

Bentley’s auditorium was not packed to the brim, but you can safely bet that the 400-plus crowd were die-hard fans of the band as they sang together with the band throughout their 19-song set. Since this was their farewell tour, Copeland let the fans decide the setlist via a poll set up on the band’s website. Among the songs that this Florida-based band performed were ‘California’, ‘Love Affair’, ‘Coffee’, and ‘The Suitcase Song’.

The last time we checked the band’s Facebook page, Copeland was about to perform their final shows in Japan, the last 2 shows of the Asian leg of this tour. For a band who decided to call it quits before they fizzle-out, Copeland have been an enjoyable group to watch and listen to. Goodbye, and thank you for the music.
