This Converse CONS x Carhartt WIP Collab Pays Homage to ’90s Skate Culture
Converse CONS and Carhartt WIP continue their ongoing partnership with the release of two sneaker silhouettes, the One Star Academy Pro and the Chuck Taylor All Star Pro, for Spring/Summer 2024.
The two skate performance designs pay homage to the brands’ roots in skateboarding.
Inspired by ’90s skate shoe designs and colourways
Both sneaker models feature tri-panel suede uppers in shades of brown, beige, and cream — a subtle nod to Carhartt WIP’s archival colours. The shoes have added durability thanks to high rubber foxing above the soles, with lateral triple stitching inspired by Carhartt WIP jackets and work pants. The two silhouettes also feature co-branded logos on the tongue and CX foam sock liner.
The Chuck Taylor All Star Pro Hi is a more durable, skate-focused counterpart to the vanilla offering you see most people wearing. It’s got a signature fit designed specifically for good board feel and flick support. It also features lock-in elastic tongue straps, cushioning CX foam sock liners, and a CONS Traction Rubber outsole for grip.
The One Star Academy Pro, on the other hand (or foot?) is a modern reinterpretation of its ’90s predecessor, the Academy — featuring the classic star and two-stripe logo. The updated silhouette comes packed with improved board feel and impact cushioning thanks to its CX foam.
