The Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival in sunny/smoggy California has always been a hotbed for pop music’s greatest, slowly inching itself closer to Glastonbury and – gasp! – Woodstock status. Now, Coachella has been the stage on which many band reunions have taken place, at the rate of at least once a year: 2001’s festival had Jane’s Addiction getting back together, followed closely by Siouxsie & the Banshees in ’02, Iggy Pop and the Stooges in ’03, the Pixies in ’04 and Gang of Four and New Order in ’05. Adding to that most august list will be none other than the world’s favourite band of minstrelsy Zapatistas, Rage Against The Machine! Zach de la Rocha, Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk will be on the same stage together for the first time in 6 years, and no sign of Chris Cornell anyway. Whee!
Also appearing at Coachella this year: Bjork! Tiesto! The Roots! Klaxons! El-P! Fountains of Wayne! We Are Scientists! Eh. So many la. Click here to see the whole list. And if you’re going, send us pictures, okay?
