City ROARS! Festival is Coming Back This May With Hacktick!, Dirgahayu, Shelhiel, Seven Collar T-Shirt & More!

With Malaysia transitioning into our endemic phase this month, international artists like Justin Bieber and Russ have announced that they are coming back to our shores. But before you head down to that, it’s time to bring out your best-concert-self for some pre-game at this local music festival!

Recently releasing a promising line-up, City ROARS! Festival (CRF) is slated to return for its third edition after a two-year hiatus.

This year’s CRF will take place in Kuala Lumpur on 28 May. The day-long event will have ten bands performing in an indoor venue, which will be announced soon! Despite the scale down, the festival will have the same vibe as the previous festival’s outdoor and multi-stage set-up.

The range of artists spans up-and-coming pop-punk band Hacktick!, Borneo indie-pop legends Nice Stupid Playground,
maximalist producer and pop star Shelhiel who recently made his debut at SXSW, indie rock mainstays Seven Collar T-Shirt, instrumental trio Dirgahayu, and more to be added soon.

CRF will also co-organise the first-ever cross-border hybrid event, with both physical and live stream performances by Malaysian and Taiwanese acts. The first wave of Taiwanese performers was announced in early April and it was revealed that among the names are award-winning artist Chih Siou, No-Nonsense Collective, and Nigh Keepers.

Don’t fret because the 8-hour event will provide live audiences and online viewers (via web-conferencing platform Gather Town) with both real-life and immersive experiences.

Early bird tickets are now on sale ’til 21 April, you can get them by clicking here.
