Chow Down Some Bomb Burgers, Rojak, Pisang Goreng And More At PIFF
Penang, the state known for it’s massive and diverse food culture is back with Penang International Food Festival (PIFF) 2018 and it’s bigger than ever this year! Happening on Friday, 20 April 2018, The Saw Emporium is partnering with PIFF to bring y’all a day full of crisp with Crispy Fryday (We love the pun).
There are going to be rows of street vendors that’ll bring you colourful local flavours, from the ever-crunchy banana fritters, keropok lekor, muruku by Ah Boy Pisang Goreng at Penang Road, to the sticky signature rojak sauce by Hock Seng Rojak King at Lebuh Macallum.
Special menus from Swallow dining partners will feature a variety of food such as Assorted Tempura, Pork Tonkatsu, Seafood Kakiage, Deep-Fried Soft Shell Crab with Pork Floss and more. We told you, it’s foodie heaven.
Wash it all down with Swallow mainstay partners such as TAPS Beer Bar, Qwenchers Juice Bar, and Norm Café that operates as usual from 11am to midnight.
Oh yeah, we forgot to mention the Food Eating Competition – Burgers vs Japanese Mega Curry Rice that’ll take place during the festival. Two rounds of food-gobbling, where participants can either choose gourmet burgers by WOLF Burgers or a Mega Japanese Curry Rice by Teppei Syokudo in the fastest time possible. Up to 5 two-person teams chall compete to win up to RM250 cash prizes. Free food AND money? Count us in!
Aside from the massive food choices, there’ll be some music as well. Acoustic band Wedding in Charlie returns on 21 April from 9pm to 12am for a special live music edition to light up the weekend.
