Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day With Guinness’ ‘Friendliest Fridge’

To ensure that everyone has a pleasant St. Patrick’s Day celebration this month, Guinness has set up a ‘friendliest fridge’ in various Malones outlets around the Valley for the sole purpose of creating new relationships. How this would work is that for every five (5) bottles of Guinness consumed in the participatory outlet, one bottle will be placed in the fridge for another customer to enjoy – but the friendliness doesn’t end there, of course. The person responsible for buying a drink for the next person will be able to record a personalised message that will be shown to the stranger — Guinness is hoping this tactic will be enough to be the start of new friendships. Was that a reference to High School Musical? Maybe. Judging by the number of Facebook friend requests we approve a day after a night of drinking, we’d say the chances of this working is relatively high. Think of this effort like a pay it forward scheme, only not done anonymously or drinking for a cause — getting mildly tipsy does not count. The celebrations will take place every Thursday of the week for an entire month, the first one being at KLCC on Thursday 3 March ’16, then Sooka Sentral, followed by its outlet in Jaya One, Pavilion and back to Jaya One on Thursday 31 March ’16.
