DJs Yohan and Rivers spin as a duo around KL for a while now – from Changkat’s Pisco Bar to Uptown Damansara’s Minut Init, but most frequently Bangsar bar Shelley Yu’s, where they’ve gained a small cult following. Now given residency there with the venue’s new night Baba Boogie, the two have been curating a selection of jazz, soul, funk, and fusion tracks every Saturday, 10.30pm onwards since the beginning of the year. For their third night though, Blue Beat Boogie, Ali Johan (of Killeur Calculateur and BFM fame) will guest – naturally that would mean a switch in music preference; expect a dirty, dusty romp through Jamaican and Nusantara sounds.
