Capt’n Trips and the Kid and Golden Mammoth to Share Two Different Debuts at The Bee

Both Capt’n Trips and the Kid and Golden Mammoth are local bands who are part of Malaysia’s new wave of psych rock bands – and unsurprisingly the two share a few band members together. Naturally, for the launch of the former’s debut album, Paraverse, this Friday 1 September, they’ve also took the opportunity to screen the music video for Golden Mammoth’s ‘Malicious Judicious’. To validate these young’uns as buzz bands to watch out for, ‘90s alt rock legend himself, Radhi OAG, will be part of the night’s lineup, which also consists of Bayangan’s melancholic guitar-driven paeans, throwback Malay rock numbers by Margasatwa, and a closing DJ set by Lionel Rizki of Public School. The two main acts – Capt’n Trips and the Kid & Golden Mammoth – will have their respective performances complemented by abstract and glitchy projections courtesy of visual collective The Tomoe.
