When it comes to passing time, most people would turn to their phones but for Tom Daley it’s knitting. The British diver was recently caught on camera knitting something purple in the stands during the ongoing women’s three-meter springboard final in Tokyo on Sunday.

Many viewers and fans were eager to know what the purple creation was, which he later revealed to be a dog’s jumper.

Besides swimming, Tom is also passionate about knitting and has a separate Instagram account called madewithlovebytomdaley where he shows off his creations and even sells them for charity.

As of now, he is fundraising for a brain tumour charity by setting up a raffle for a chance to win a rainbow sweater made by him.

The athlete took up knitting and crocheting last March during the coronavirus lockdown to keep himself sane.

He has not stopped his hobby ever since and he even made a pink cardigan for Malaysian diver Cheong Jun Hoong in May this year.

The Olympic diver, who had just won his first gold medal in the men’s synchronised 10m platform last week with his partner Matty Lee, had also taken this opportunity to create a cute medal pouch that featured both the Japanese and British flags.
