Before you go on about how this is just another indie Brit pop band with a novelty name, stop and think, “When was the last time you sat on a bicycle?” The same answer would probably be the amount of time that has passed since you last judged music purely on its own merits – well, for some of you at least.

But Bombay Bicycle Club (BBC) are more than just their curry-inspired namesake. The band which comprises of Jack Steadman (vocals, guitar), Jamie MacColl (guitar, backing vocals), Ed Nash (bass, keyboards) and Suren de Saram (drums, backing vocals) has been called “the hottest band to come from North London for quite some time” by tastemaker NME.

Starting since they were 15, BBC entered Virgin Mobile’s band contest Road To V in 2006 and subsequently emerged as one of the 2 winners – beating favorites The Holloways and receiving an opening slot for V Festival 2006. Fast forward a couple of years later and BBC has completed secondary school and are ready to take on the world with their debut album I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose.
