Better Than Fresh Air: The Blueair Air Purifier Is The Perfect Stay-At-Home Companion
You’ve seen it on billboards, and you’ve probably even seen their many ads on social media.
Blueair, a Swedish air purifier with Scandinavian design, has been around since 1996 and since 2016 Blueair is the proud member of Unilever.
Blueair is sold in over 60 countries and has been a part of the Malaysian market since 2013. This year is their 26th anniversary!
Coming in all shapes and sizes, their family of products are suitable for use-cases ranging from both industrial and residential.
At a time when everyone is spending more time at home due to the pandemic, having an air purifier is a sure-fire way to keep your surroundings fresh and clean.
Since clean air has become a top priority for most households after the pandemic started, we thought we should look into one of the most popular brands…
Blueair’s local distributor Visionary Solutions – which is the sole distributor of highly effective and premium quality products such as NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto®, Laurastar and KitchenAid.
How Does It Look?
First thing’s first, this machine is straight-up beautiful.
Its boxy, Scandinavian design is both stylish and practical, making it a great fit for most rooms around the house.
The bottom part of its body also serves as a practical pre-filter which helps to prolong the usage of the particle filter (main filter), and comes in five different pre-filter colours (Arctic Trail, Winter Reed, Night Waves, Aurora Light and Archipelago Sand), so you can pick which one best suits you.
You can easily match your air purifier colour with your interior design, colour preference or even during festive seasons.
How Does It Work?
The Blue 3610, as well as all the other products in the line, is truly plug-and-play.
Controlled by a single button, you can shuffle between four different modes (Auto Mode, Speed 1- Night Mode, Speed 2 – Everyday Mode and Speed 3- Boost Mode), making its use as simple as possible.
On top of that, it also comes equipped with an air quality indicator, which changes colour according to the level of fine particles (pollutants) in the surrounding room.
This is helped by a smart sensor on its side, which monitors the air in real time.
Best of all, the machine takes in air from 360°, so you can put it anywhere without compromising performance.
Is It Any Good?
After using the Blue 3610 for a few days, I can say it does the job really well.
There is a noticeable difference between the air quality of my room, most noticeably by how I don’t wake up with blocked noses anymore.
After all, Blueair does lay claim to being the World’s Standard No.1, so it definitely checks out.
I was also shocked by how silent it is. Usually air filters give off a loud, buzzing sound, but this one just hums along rather quietly.
This is thanks to Blueair’s patented HEPASilent™ which uses a combination of electrostatic and mechanical filtration which effectively removes 99.97% of bacteria and viruses.
With this HEPASilent™ Technology, the air purifiers are whisper-silent, due to the Blueair particle filter. Since it’s less dense, it uses less air pressure thus emitting less noise. Genius!
The Blue 3610 is also capable of capturing 99.9% of SARS-COV-2 (Covid-19) which is useful during these times.
It was tested in a 13ft³ test chamber so performance may vary depending on the size of the room, location of the device, quantity of particulates in the air and product use pattern.
Despite these claims, it has not been proven to prevent transmission of the virus.
