Come 1 October and the streets of Damansara Perdana will be filled with men and women alike belting songs and maybe doing a jig or two (do Malaysians jig?) in merriment. The culprit, Ecoba’s Oktoberfest Beerlympics. Yes beer lovers, it is that time of year when even the wine snobs will have no choice but to concede that beer has become a worldwide phenomenon they cannot escape.
This Oktoberfest, Ecoba has a big line-up of activities where you will have to down a beer or two to steady yourself. After all that gulping, hoist yourself up onto their mechanical bull and let loose with yelling at the top of your lungs ‘Yeehaw!’ and proceed to put the blame on the beer. Not enough? Join the infamous Centurion Challenge and win yourself some points with the ladies. Other games you can partake sans inhibition post a few beers are the beer barrel race and the chicken dance.
Work off the calories by working your way through the treasure trove at their junkyard sales and put them back on by inhaling the yummy sizzling sausages and burgers. The crowd will be entertained by performances by Acoustic Fourplay, Nyl, Lish and Blastique as well as renowned saxophonist Azmi Hairuddin.
Also get ready to pump up them guns by lifting the 1 litre Beer Stein of your faves Erdinger, Franziskaner and Carlsberg (from RM 50 onwards); best of all you get to keep the beer stein so you can do repeat a performance in the privacy of friends who don’t judge. There to hangout and mingle with you beer guzzlers is Carlsberg’s brand ambassador who is an absolute hottie.
Give yourself an attractive beer belly October 1, Ecoba PJ, 5pm onwards. For more info of the merriment click here.
