Beastie Boy Has Cancer

Adam Yauch (aka MCA) from the iconic rap rock group Beastie Boys has revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Speaking alongside fellow band member Ad-Rock via a video broadcast on the Beastie Boys website recently, Yauch explained that he has a form of cancer in the Parotid gland of his neck saying matter of factly “I’m actually going to have to have surgery, probably next week, and after that some radiation.”

In light of this, Beastie Boys will be canceling “a bunch of shows” and postponing their upcoming album Hot Sauce Committee which was scheduled to be released in September this year. The good new is that Yauch’s cancer is treatable and does not affect his vocal. Godspeed brother!
