Close your eyes, take a listen and it’s Oasis shaved of bombast. It’s difficult to be fair, since Beady Eye is Liam Gallagher’s attempt to show that Noel isn’t the only writer on the block.

Not a mindblower, but it does lower some cynically raised eyebrows; using a standard Oasis tactic, the band wields together bits and bobs of Led Zep, The Who, Lennon and McCartney to produce a well-oiled vehicle that speeds away from the shadow of Oasis. Despite yourself, you’re gonna be bopping to ‘Bring The Light’ and ‘The Beat Goes On’.
