Soundscape saves the day again! This time by bringing down experimental math-rock extraordinairios Battles. Though details of the venue are sketchy at the moment, main man Mak has assured us the date to be is 19th March 2009. And from the turnout at the recent Mogwai concert, this one looks to be supported by scenesters far and wide as well.

The New York band consists of ex-Helmet drummer John Stanier, ex-Don Caballero guitarist Ian Williams, ex-Lynx guitarist Dave Konopka, and Tyondai Braxton (son of avant-garde jazz musician Anthony Braxton) who plays guitar and keyboard and creates live voice samples.

And since a picture paints a thousand words, this music video should do more! For those of you still new to Battles, this was the song that made us nuts when we religiously played it every morning at the JUICE office. This is ‘Atlas’.
