Banana Republic : City Sounds
This summer, Banana Republic finds inspiration from the city with the release of City Sounds, a new digital album filled with 9 never-before-heard tracks by 9 music artists that all appear in the ‘City Stories’ national ad. The album includes exclusive tracks from OK Go, Liz Phair, Sara Bareillis, Ayo, Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carraba and more.
City Sounds is inspired by each of the artists’ favourite cities from around the world. It is apparent from the diversity found in the tracks that range from soul, modern jazz, pop to indie rock. Ayo sings of her beloved city of Paris, while Sara Bareilles and Dashboard Confessional show their affection for their adopted cities. Both highly acclaimed violinist David Garrett and Grammy-award winning saxaphonist David Sanchez find comfort in the melting pot of cultures that is Manhattan, and Latin pop star Tommy Torres and emerging jazz bassist/vocalist Esperanza Spalding find ingenuity in San Juan and Portland, respectively. Last but not least, included into the compilation is Liz Phair and Ok Go’s brand new songs that are only available to customers who make a purchase at Banana Republic stores during this campaign.
