From Malaysia’s humid streets to the international fashion scene, model and creative multi-hyphenate Salomé Das is paying tribute to the country she calls home in the most infectious way possible.

Born in Germany, Salomé moved to Malaysia with her parents when she was just three months old, growing up surrounded by the chaos, colour, heat, and culture that now pulse through her latest single, ‘Back 2 Malaysia’.

And yes, it’s exactly the kind of track you’ll want blasting through your speakers with the windows down.

Packed with breezy pop energy and glossy summer vibes, the track feels like a love letter to the country, complete with lyrics like: “Back to Malaysia, feel so amazing, sunkissed and wild.”

It’s playful, nostalgic, and impossible not to move to. And the visuals are equally iconic.

Released alongside the track are stunning shots of Salomé wandering through Malaysia’s lush jungles, durian in hand like a true local.

Another standout snippet on Instagram sees her vibing in traditional Indian attire, a beautiful nod to her half-Indian, Odisha heritage. The visuals blend fashion editorial energy with distinctly Malaysian scenery, creating something that feels both global and deeply personal:

Somehow, she managed to turn the very specific experience of growing up in Malaysia into a glossy summer banger. And we have to say, there’s something refreshing about seeing Malaysia portrayed through a lens that feels glamorous without losing its quirky, humid, tropical charm.

No sanitised postcard version here. Just sun, greenery, culture, sweat, fruit, and vibes!
