A press conference took place in Bali on 22 July 2010 to announce the top 10 finalists for the search of ASEAN’s best band called redAMP 2010 Are You ASEAN’s Best Band. After seeing 2,575 bands who signed up for the competition, AirAsiaRedTix and MTV Asia finally revealed the search of the best bands in indie and garage. Three out of the 10 bands selected are from Malaysia! Woohoo!

10 ASEAN countries were represented with Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines being the top 3 submissions. An internal team selected the semi-finalists, then 20 bands were sent to KL for live auditions, which were judged by one of Asia’s top music producer and former Malaysian Idol judge, Roslan Aziz. The three judging qualities were performances, appeal and ambitions, according to Roslan.

The regional media were invited to attend the press conference in Bali for the announcement. Here’s the lucky 10, in alphabetical order.
