Air Jordan III & IV: Kicks Necromancy @ HUNDRED%
A decade from now basketball sensation Jeremy Lin would probably get his own sought after classic sneakers, but let’s tone down the Linsanity down a notch and get excited over an established legend. We have good news for sneaker heads – two kicks worn by the greatest player of all time Michael Jordan have gotten the retro treatment by Jordan Brand.
Air Jordans are a perennial favourite among kicksologists with a ubiquity in seemingly every era. Sometimes that ubiquity time-travels, as is the case with the recent retromancy of Air Jordans III and IV. Already been retro-ed at least once (more than twice for III) since they were released in 1986 and 1989 respectively, these kicks have more staying power than their successors, just as Jordan’s legacy had continued even after retirement.
Jordan Brand has only rereleased the IV edition once (1999) and III has sold out since the last retro (2003), making them rarities among collectors. Luckily for us streetwear boutique and kicks specialists Hundred% has both in stock!
AIR JORDAN III RETRO
Infamously worn by Spike Lee as Mars Blackmon of She’s Gotta Have It fame, this pair is the third retro of white/cement grey-fire red colourway over a 17-year period, Air Jordan III Retro retains basic elements of its predecessor’s design – white leather, red tongue backing and accents, grey elephant skin print swatches, black midsole trim, and grey outsole.
AIR JORDAN IV RETRO
Another pair with a Spike Lee connection, the Air Jordan IV was featured in his classic film Do the Right Thing. These white/black tech-grey kicks are back due to popular demand, and thankfully they haven’t meddled with the classic white cement colourup template lest they want to incur the wrath of angry elitists.
Both retail at RM519. Get your classic Air Jordans at Hundred%, G50-51 & G66, Berjaya Times Square. Find more info here.
