World’s Highest Score In ACCA Exams Earned By 24 y/o M’sian Who Juggles 4 Part-Time Jobs
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) tests are renowned for being among the hardest exams in the entire world to pass, and it is not unusual for candidates to repeat the test after failing the first time.
Even so, with a score of 86 on the “Advanced Financial Management” paper, Nicholas Hoe Zi Zai, who hails from Johor, took first place not only on a national scale but globally; marking an enormous accomplishment.
“I believe that luck plays a significant role in me winning the award. Every pupil will have some subject areas in which they excel and others in which they fall short. There is always a possibility if you get an exam that favours your stronger areas,” said the 24-year-old.
Nicholas also told Wau Post that his father, who worked in the same sector, was the reason he entered the accounting field. He added that he enjoys assisting others with planning and organising, so he thought this course would be a good fit for him.
He recognises that his path to success in the exams wasn’t simple, though.
Nicholas, who is currently living in Australia and juggling four part-time jobs in the hospitality sector, found it extremely difficult to find time to study.
He would therefore always carry his study notes with him when he was travelling to his job or taking a lunch break to guarantee that he’d be able to cover the complete curriculum.
“It’s a gruelling but worthwhile journey, is all I can say,” he remarked.
Gavin, one of Nicholas’ university classmates, also expressed his joy over Nicholas’ accomplishment.
“I’m very happy that he was able to achieve such a fantastic outcome. I am aware of the considerable effort he has put into his preparation for the test, and I genuinely hope that news of his success will inspire other students who are still working hard for their exams,” said Gavin.
While talking about his future, Nicholas said he wished that he would keep working hard despite the difficulties he encounters in the future.
He declared, “I’ll work hard in any problems I may encounter, especially when I’m getting ready to look for jobs.”
Nicholas has already completed the 2022 examinations for Standard Business Reporting (SBR) and Strategic Business Leader (SBL) prior to this year’s tests. He simply needs to pass one more paper to qualify as an ACCA Affiliate.
Following that, he wants to submit an application for a position in accounting or finance.
We wish you the best of luck, Nicholas!
