A Sunday Affair Flea Market is Bringing An Honest Mistake, GLASS, & Priscillia Xavier to The Stage
Kuala Lumpur’s biggest music-centric flea market A Sunday Affair (ASA) is returning on 28 April to its designated location, party-central TREC KL.
Held every last Sunday of the month, ASA have been a signature event for club & bar-goers to witness burgeoning musicians as well as merchants who sell anything from handcrafted goods to random knick-knacks.
Craft Army market will see a wide display of some 30 indie-stores retailing organic products, handicraft, handmade accessories, fashion apparel and more, at Quad, Hive and Rhapsody Square event spaces.
No stranger to the local music scene, Xavier will perform with a 4-piece band, alongside post-rock outfit GLASS and pop-rock band An Honest Mistake.
If you’re not so in tune with local music, here’s what to expect from the three acts:
An Honest Mistake, headed by organizer, lecturer, and musician, Darren Teh. Their penchant for creating catchy earworms haven’t remained the same – in fact, it’s evolved. Expect to go between full-on rock, relaxed acoustic music, and heavy hardcore-influenced tunes.
GLASS on the other hand is a four-piece post-rock outfit. They are known for catchy hooks in an ambient wall of sound, fuelled by the lamentations of new-found adulthood.
Lastly, a singer-songwriter and a familiar face in the indie local music scene, Priscillia Xavier. Fusing both soul and her knack for storytelling through music, she is known for her diverse repertoire of unique renditions, re-interpretations and musical twists.
While you’re strolling through the market or head banging over at the stage, look out for The Elektrik Chair barber at Quad. Fringe acts like belly dancers, magician, fire-eater, and more will perform from 9pm – 11.30pm, adding to the festivities.
ASA is also giving out limited-edition tees for you to rock.
