New York trio A Place To Bury Strangers make the sort of punishing post-punk with vocals (Oliver Ackerman’s) drenched in reverb and effects coupled with blown out guitar and synths to create an all-consuming black hole of dissonance and just general desolation. We dig it. After some EPs interspersed between a few of their studio album, APTBS has released their fourth album entitled Transfixiation, which doesn’t stray too far from fans’ familiarity with the decade-old band. And yes, a new album could only mean we’ll be seeing them here soon — all thanks to Soundscape Records.
