The Wknd Pres. Cross Border Showcase

The Wknd is the music website for discerning appreciators of local and regional independent music, so naturally they would create a physical manifestation of their digital efforts into a showcase that is now entering its second edition. This year, the Cross Border Showcase does not only feature acts that cross international borders to perform here, but also the event wades past state borders as well. The showcase will be held in Kuala Lumpur and down south in Johor Bahru. On the first day of the showcase, there’s Indonesian power pop band The Adams, Thai trio Yellow Fang, and local veterans They Will Kill Us All and MUCK. All these bands will converge in Johor, joining Singaporean band The Pinholes, who play surf pop in ’60s attire of mop hair and glasses, retro vibes from The Changcuters, and The Wknd-discovered The Venopian Solitude.
