VIDEO: RBMA’s Diggin’ In The Carts Trailer
Everybody has been exposed to videogame music in some form or another. Even if you weren’t an avid gamer, someone around you would have been playing Sonic, or Mario, or even Pokemon on the appropriate consoles when you were growing up — and it’s the music of these classics that tied Japan’s most famous cultural export together.
This upcoming series by the Red Bull Music Academy showcases the influence that Japanese videogame music has had on some of our favourite artistes — Fatima Al Qadiri, Flying Lotus, Groundislava, Kode 9, Thundercat and more — while telling the tale of the influencers, the composers themselves, at the same time. The 6-part series starts next Thursday. Don’t miss it!
