Noite Brasileira @ Cloth & Clef
It was a night less than ordinary last Saturday on Changkat Bukit Bintang when Cloth & Clef was taken over by revellers drawn to the music, high energy and scantily clad dancers of the Brazilian festival experience at Noite Brasileira.
Part of Brasil Fest 08, the night started with DJ Branquinho playing mellow Brazilian tunes on the decks followed by a live Bossanova set. The beat was taken up a notch as Sambaê performed a samba duet dance routine. A tribal dance performance known as maculele followed but it was an energetic capoeira performance that opened the flood gates to the dancefloor as revellers shook what their mama gave them to the samba sounds.Â
One of the performance highlights was the Batucada and colourful samba carnival dancers. The audience called and whistled for encores as the party spilled outside onto the street. DJ Tubby wrapped up the night on the decks playing forro, a traditional Brazilian music and then took it even further with some Brazilian drum n’ bass and Arabyrd on the mic.
There’ll be more Noite Brasileira in 2009. Click here for more snaps.
