Vote Or Die, MF!
In 2006, 70% of the 4.9 million Malaysians that didn’t vote were aged between 21 and 35 years. But nowadays, the young folks are becoming increasingly concerned about social and humanitarian issues like lyrics in a Rise Against song. And if you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late for come tomorrow, you can do so at a rawk concert!
With performances by Bittersweet, Couple, Liyana Fizi, Robot Asmara, Reza Salleh, Ika, Seven Collar T-Shirt and many more, Youth For Change Carnival happening tomorrow (Saturday) at One Utama looks set to turn the dull and boring process of registering to vote into a fun one with indie music, art, fashion and films.
At the carnival, those who have yet to register to vote will be able to do so easily at booths around the venue. AND you’ll stand a chance to win prizes as well as. Woohoo!
In addition to the live music, the Youth For Change carnival will also feature a mini flea market showcasing creative fashion and art by young designers.
Short films made by young Malaysian filmmakers will be screened, including the popular 15Malaysia shorts that have been a hit on the Internet. Actors, musicians, artists, bloggers and scenesters will also be there, so come down and don’t be a stranger!
Youth For Change Carnival is happening tomorrow (Sat 7 Nov) at the Rainforest, Lower Ground, New Wing One Utama. Screening of 15Malaysia from 1-3pm and performances all the way from 3-10.30pm.
