Forget the 2 a.m. last call. SaturdaySelects wants to know what happens when the party starts at 6 a.m. instead.

The KL independent music imprint and event promoter is marking its 10th anniversary with Break-A-Dawn, a new sunrise party taking over Sky Society KL on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, aka Malaysia Day. The doors open at 6 a.m., the party runs until 12 p.m., and yes, you are expected to show up while most of KL is still figuring out where it left its alarm clock.

It’s also SaturdaySelects’ first sunrise event in its 10 years of operation, making this less of a one-off early morning rave and more of a full-on remix of the format the label has spent the past decade building.

Your 6 a.m. Itinerary Just Got Weird

Break-A-Dawn spreads across five zones on the Sky Society rooftop, because apparently one dance floor wasn’t enough for the morning.

There’s a house and disco dance floor, six dedicated pickleball courts, a communal breakfast table, a communal art and chill-out corner, and a lounge for anyone who needs to temporarily remember what sitting down feels like.

The idea is to move between all five throughout the morning. Dance to a home-grown DJ lineup, pick up a pickleball racket, play some table tennis, grab breakfast, work on an art project, or simply hang out. All before midday.

It’s a curious combination, but that’s precisely the point. Break-A-Dawn takes the familiar ingredients of a SaturdaySelects event and moves them into daylight.

House, Disco, Then Breakfast

On the music front, JONNYVICIOUS, IRAMA, ROSHAN, PEOT b2b MEGAN, MDM WOO, SMILEY, and DAMIEN will soundtrack the morning across two stages.

The main deck leans into house and disco, while a downtempo chill-out set gives everyone a softer landing when the dancing starts to catch up with them.

Then there’s breakfast, because apparently dancing before most people have had coffee requires adequate provisions.

Safehouse, Tug Gelato, Paperkite Craft Beer, and Hannah’s Sangria are part of the food and drink lineup, with breakfast options including smoothie bowls, basmathi nasi lemak, pancakes, and more.

So, yes, there will be nasi lemak at a sunrise party.

SaturdaySelects, But Make It Morning

Break-A-Dawn arrives as SaturdaySelects celebrates a decade of programming built around music, community, and culture.

After 10 years of late-night dance floors, the imprint is turning its usual schedule upside down: trading 2 a.m. for sunrise, and last call for breakfast.

One of the brains behind the event, Roshan explains, the event is built around the idea that mornings deserve just as much energy as 2 a.m. It’s also designed to be suitable for all ages, with pickleball and breakfast sitting alongside the DJ booth.

Nobody in KL has done a party quite like this before, according to SaturdaySelects. And honestly, we’re curious to see what the city looks like when the dance floor opens before the coffee shops do.
