Sunset by NEON Takes Melodic Techno To The Highlands This June

Set against the cool mountain air of Genting Highlands, Sunset by NEON returns on 20 June 2026 with one of its most ambitious editions yet: UPPERGROUND, hosted by ARTBAT.

For one night only, the highlands will transform into a massive open-air dancefloor above the clouds, bringing together some of the biggest names in melodic techno and electronic music.

Known for curating large-scale experiences that rival international festivals, Sunset by NEON is once again raising the bar with a lineup that blends global heavyweights, regional debuts, and immersive production.

Leading the charge is ARTBAT, the Ukrainian duo responsible for some of melodic techno’s most defining tracks, including ‘Horizon’, ‘For A Feeling’, ‘Atlas’, and their acclaimed remix of ‘We Are The People’ by Empire of the Sun.

Having dominated stages at events like Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, Afterlife, Zamna, and Ushuaïa Ibiza, the duo now bring their visionary UPPERGROUND concept to Malaysia for the very first time.

Joining them is Dutch-Moroccan electronic star R3HAB, one of the world’s most streamed dance music artists and a familiar face across major festival circuits.

While known for explosive EDM hits, R3HAB has increasingly ventured into melodic techno territory in recent years, including collaborations with ARTBAT such as ‘Flight Mode’. His appearance at UPPERGROUND marks a highly anticipated return to Malaysia.

Also set to make his long-awaited Malaysian debut is Chris Avantgarde, the producer behind ‘Consciousness’ with Anyma, a track that has become synonymous with the modern melodic techno movement.

The lineup is further strengthened by performances from PlastiK Funk and 7SKIES, both known for high-energy festival sets and productions championed by some of dance music’s biggest names.

Hosted in the misty hills of Genting Highlands, the event promises a fully immersive audiovisual experience powered by UPPERGROUND’s world-class production team, combining massive visuals, synchronised lighting, cinematic sound design, and the atmospheric energy Sunset by NEON has become known for.

With multiple artists making their Malaysian debut, alongside some of their first major appearances in the region, Sunset by NEON presents UPPERGROUND is shaping up to be one of Southeast Asia’s biggest electronic music events of 2026.
