After a full decade out of the Malaysian circuit, 5 Seconds of Summer are finally circling back to Kuala Lumpur, this time as part of their ‘EVERYONE’S A STAR!’ 2026 world tour.

For longtime fans, it’s the kind of return that feels equal parts surreal and overdue, especially considering how much the band has changed since they were last here.

Back then, 5SOS were still riding the wave of their early pop-punk identity, loud, chaotic, and built for teen bedrooms and Tumblr dashboards. Fast forward 10 years, and that version of the band feels almost like a different lifetime.

In its place is something more refined but also more unpredictable, a sound that leans into alt-rock, polished pop, and moments that flirt with something slightly darker and more experimental. They’re not chasing nostalgia, and they’re definitely not trying to recreate the past.

Their latest album reflects that shift clearly, revealing a fresher, more self-aware version of the band that pushes both their sonic and visual identity forward.

The record has been described as a reinvention of sorts, drawing inspiration from acts like N.E.R.D., Gorillaz, and The Prodigy, while still staying grounded in the high-energy live performance DNA that first defined them.

This evolution is expected to carry directly into the Kuala Lumpur show, which will feature a setlist spanning their multiplatinum catalogue alongside a newly elevated stage production. Fans can expect immersive visuals and a more cinematic live experience, designed to match the band’s current creative direction rather than simply revisit their earlier eras.

Artist presale tickets will be available from 4 May 2026 (Monday), 12 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., followed by general sale on 5 May 2026 (Tuesday) from 12 p.m. onwards via www.golive-asia.com.
