MyGameOn Triumphs As Esports Media Of The Year At Malaysia Esports Awards 2023

In a groundbreaking triumph for the local esports realm, MyGameOn (MGO) has achieved a momentous victory by securing the prestigious Esports Media of the Year Award at the inaugural Malaysia Esports Awards 2023.

The awards ceremony, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on 27 January, was a jubilant celebration of the exceptional contributions made by key players in the Malaysian esports community.

Facing stiff competition from renowned contenders such as WTM Today, Arked MY, Gamers Gazette MY, and Esportsmy, MGO emerged victorious in the Esports Media of the Year category, a recognition reserved for media entities showcasing excellence, innovation, and significant impact in the highly competitive esports landscape.

Organised by Alive Asia Events in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF), and EsportsIntegrated (ESI), the Malaysia Esports Awards brought together a panel of 22 distinguished judges, including well-known figures in the esports domain such as MasterRamen, Farouq (Flava), and Abang Lord.

The award recipients were determined through a voting process for nominations conducted before the event, with the final winners chosen by the panel of judges to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

MGO distinguished itself among its peers, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality content, engaging with the community, and showcasing overall excellence in esports media.

Expressing gratitude, Hazril Md Nor, esports journalist and senior content specialist at MGO, remarked, “Alhamdulillah, starting out as an esports journalist, I never thought I would come this far. Thanks to everyone in esports who trusted our platform and abilities. Let’s keep pushing esports forward for our nation.”

The Malaysia Esports Awards not only highlighted the accomplishments of exceptional media organisations but also celebrated excellence in 16 categories, including Esports Team of the Year, Player of the Year (Male) and (Female), and Organisation of the Year.

Among the notable winners, Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang scooped three awards: Player of the Year (Male), MVP of the Year, and MOBA Player of the Year, while Natasha “Tashbunny” Hashim received the Esports Host of the Year Award.
