‘SUARA: Speaking Up for Palestine’ invites you to a poignant charity art exhibition on Thursday, 16 November 2023, at 8 p.m. at Galeri Prima. This collaborative effort between Galeri Prima and Art Case Galleries endeavours to shed light on the enduring struggles faced by the people of Palestine.

The exhibition, running at Galeri Prima until 26 November 2023, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily will contribute a portion of its proceeds to the Tabung Kemanusiaan Palestin Media Prima.

SUARA serves as a powerful platform for our local art community to express solidarity and provide support to those affected by the ongoing conflict. Harnessing the transformative power of art, the exhibition seeks to advocate for the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

In the eloquent words of the organisers, “Our voices possess a unique potency—they can stir the senses and incite others to action. Through our voices, we can craft nuanced meanings, convey emotions, and assert our presence. Hence, we have chosen Suara as the title of this charity art exhibition for Palestine.”

The organisers emphasise that speaking up for Palestine goes beyond rallies and international forums; it is a matter of humanity. Galeri Prima, in collaboration with Art Case Galleries, has chosen to contribute to this cause through the profound language of art. Suara echoes the collective voice of our local art fraternity on the issue of Palestine.

90 artworks generously donated by art collectors and renowned artists will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds directed to the Media Prima Palestine Humanitarian Fund. Established in 2012, this fund aims to support humanitarian aid in Palestine through reputable non-governmental organisations.

Artists participating in this impactful exhibition include esteemed names such as Raja Azhar Idris, Sharifah Fatimah Syed Zubir, Yusof Ghani, Rafiee Ghani, Haslin Ismail, Johan Marjonid, and others. The showcase also features works by the late Khalil Ibrahim, Zaim Durulaman, Jamil Mat Isa, Ismail Latiff, Ahmad Shukri Mohamed, Raja Intan Azalea, Bayu Utomo Radjikin, Fujiaanggara, Husin Othman, Husin Hourmain, Raden Hisbullah, Aminah Abd Rahman, and Rosli Zakaria.

The lineup comprises talents of multiple age groups, with diverse backgrounds, from artists as young as 12 years of age to an array of painters, sculptors and curators with a unanimous sense of compassion and empathy that complement their skills.
