This Japanese Talent Agency is Looking for Content Creators Who Want to Move to Tokyo
No country does it better than Japan when it comes to infusing passion into all facets of their culture, which includes food and media. If you’ve always had that same level of passion for Japan and are looking to make content there, here’s a program for you.
GeeXPlus has announced the opening of its global creator application program for talents from all over the world. GeeXPlus is a Japan-based talent management agency founded in 2019 with the goal of making Tokyo a new hub for international content creators.
This marks the first time that the Tokyo-based talent agency has publicly recruited talent. This application program comes off the back of a series of successful years as one of Japan’s premier talent agencies focused on digital content creators.
The GeeXPlus current roster of content creators includes the world’s top anime podcast, Trash Taste with 3 million subscribers across 3 YouTube channels, TheGamingBeaver with 3.78 million YouTube subscribers, and storytime YouTuber and illustrator, Emirichu with 3.38 million subscribers.
Other talents have also seen large improvements across all platforms since signing with GeeXPlus. Japan subculture YouTuber, Sydney “Sydsnap” Poniewaz, has grown by more than 400% on YouTube since relocating to Japan with the agency.
Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun has also seen tremendous growth on YouTube with a 350% subscriber growth across 3 separate YouTube channels and over 1 million followers on Twitch.
Interested applicants can apply via GeeXPlus’ Google Form. GeeXPlus is looking for creators of all backgrounds and nationalities and of any creator genre.
The form asks for basic information such as the length of time being a content creator as well as the total number of followers on all platforms. The form will close on December 10, after which no further applications will be taken.
Successful applicants will be able to work with GeeXPlus through exclusive or non-exclusive talent representation. Depending on the type of contract signed, services provided by the agency can include business email management, sponsorship schedule management, content production support as well as living support in Japan.
