Growing up with the pressures of school, parents, and general expectations we put on ourselves was never easy.

According to reports, a 13-year-old girl died from suicide two nights ago in Puchong Utama after jumping off the kitchen window of her flat.

The incident occurred at 11:20pm, shortly after she and her mother had gotten into a spat over owning a mobile phone without the latter’s permission.

Subang Jaya Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat and his team of investigators rushed to the scene after a report that was made at 11:21pm.

They found the body in a pool of blood and noted that she was pronounced dead by the paramedics.

Wan Azlan said that the police had found handwritten notes in the house, stating that she had been wanting to end her life for a while.

“In the notes the girl wrote she could no longer take the pressure and stress given by her family members and that is the reason why she wanted to end her life.

“Preliminary investigation showed that prior to the incident, the deceased mother had scolded her for owning a mobile phone without her permission and for going out at night often,” he told reporters.

Officials have classified the case as sudden death and the body has been sent for a postmortem.
