Man Robs Goldsmith With Plastic Toy Gun In Seremban, Whole Thing Was Over In 30 Minutes
Remember when we were younger and would pretend to be street gangsters with toy guns and pretend bullets? That’s basically what the whole Nerf company was built upon.
But as we get older, toy guns aren’t just props in a Mexican standoff anymore. What happens when someone actually uses that fear to intend harm?
A 32-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly trying to rob a goldsmith shop on Jalan Sultan Iskandar with a toy gun.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the the man was arrested near Jalan Dato Onn Jaafar at about 2.30pm on 6 December, this Tuesday.
“Two policemen from the Pasir Puteh station went to the location after receiving information on the incident and saw a man, believed to be the suspect, being chased by several people.
“He was arrested with the help of policemen from the Pekan Baru station,” ACP Yahaya said in a statement.
“During the arrest, we also seized the plastic toy pistol in the suspect’s slingbag,” he added.
ACP Yahaya said the suspect, from Seremban, went into the shop at about 2pm on the pretext of wanting to buy a gold chain.
“After seeing the chain, the suspect grabbed it before aiming his toy gun at the shop employee.
“He then ran out of the shop,” he said, adding that the case was resolved within 30 minutes.
He said the case is being investigated under Sections 392 and 397 of the Penal Code for robbery.
“A remand order will be sought from the court to help the investigation,” he added.
