It’s been barely a month since Azlan quit local indie pop sensation Meet Uncle Hussain, but the ex-vocalist is already set to release his new solo single under the name Azlan & The Typewriter.

The wailing rock-opera-ish ‘Kelibat Si Penyair’, which can be found on Azlan’s Myspace, sounds like he’s going off the Malay indie pop highway and entering deeper waters. Yup, the ink may be fresh on his new name but how can you tell from just one song?

JUICE will be snooping out his single’s media launch later at Uncle Chilli’s, PJ Hilton and we’ll keep you updated on whether it rocks or it’s back to the keyboard for Azlan.
