The iconic royal wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, was the talk of town until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot and then proceeded to reveal the nastier side of Buckingham Palace. But that doesn’t mean the world has stopped loving the royals or the fairytale portrayal of their lives.

Fans of the royals are taking note of recent news of a slice of Charles and Diana’s wedding cake, kept for almost four decades, that will soon be auctioned off.

The slice of cake decorated with the royal symbol in the colour of blue, gold, red and silver has been preserved in a tin that it was packed in 40 years ago.

It was given to a palace worker in Clarence House named Moyra Smith as an appreciation gift for her hard work on preparing the wedding that took place in 1981.

Moyra’s family kept the cake until it was given to a collector back in 2008 who kept it until this day.

The slice of cake is expected to be auctioned off at RM2,393.

Health experts have advised interested buyers to not eat the cake as it has been over four decades.
