JPJ Offers 70% Discount For Traffic Summons Including Blacklisted Cases, Starting Today

If you have any summonses stashed in your glovebox, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) is offering 70% discount for traffic summonses for two months starting today. This includes blacklisted cases, as reported FMT.

Transport minister Wee Ka Siong said the discount offered is in conjunction with JPJ’s 75th anniversary, which involves 3.5 million active summonses identified from 2010 to March this year.

Payment for the summonses can be done at all JPJ offices and online through the department’s official website. Wee suggests people do it online to avoid crowding the JPJ offices.

Wee said to avoid the 3Cs (crowded, confined and close) at JPJP premises and counters as JPJ has introduced the JPJeQ, an online waiting queue system.

“The mobile application will allow customers to choose JPJ branches which are less crowded and use QR codes to get the waiting number, and it is a friendly app to people with disabilities and senior citizens,” he said.

Besides the discount, JPJ also launched a special vehicle registration plate for the Federal Territory of Putrajaya. Starting yesterday (12 April), you can bid for the “FD” plate through JJPeBid. Wee said the bid will end at 1opm on Friday and results will be announced the following day.
