Actor Afdlin Shauki & Rapper Altimet Joins PKR in Support of Anwar Ibrahim
Two Malaysian celebrities – actor Datuk Afdlin Shauki and rapper Altimet shocked netizens when they recently announced that they are joining the country’s political scene.
According to SAYS, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has become the political platform of choice for the famous actor to serve the community.
Afdlin added that PKR, led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, offered space and a position for him to share his aspirations in humanitarian work. At the same time, the artist explained that the value of Anwar’s struggle and strong spirit as a leader also encouraged him to reach out to the people.
The announcement of the participation of Afdlin and Altimet in PKR will be announced by Anwar, tomorrow (1 April) at ‘Temu Anwar’ event which will be held in Ampang.
According to Afdlin, his decision to join PKR was of his own free will.
“PKR is a party that takes care of all races although its chairmen are Malay. This is the vessel I crave, that Malays can become chairmen without prejudice to the rights and welfare of other races. And Datuk Seri Anwar is a leader who always puts people of various races first.
As Malaysians, this is the kind of leader that the country needs,” he said.
Meanwhile, it’s unclear if Altimet is actually joining the political party, but he did say through a video post that he is excited to show up at the event tomorrow. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
