Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park Opens Mid-2021 And Features Attractions From ‘Ice Age’, ‘Night at the Museum’ & More

It feels like it’s been ages since we learned the news about Resorts World Genting’s (RWG) movie-inspired theme park. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait any longer because Genting SkyWorlds will open its doors to visitors mid-2021, Malay Mail reported.

Lee Thiam Kit, RWG’s head of business and operations, said that the group is committed to open the park this year despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO).

There will be nine movie and adventure-inspired worlds where guests can immerse themselves. These worlds are: Eagle Mountain, Central Park, Liberty Lane, Robots Rivet Town, Andromeda Base, Ice Age, Studio Plaza and Rio that spans across 26 acres.

It will feature 26 rides and attractions such as roller coasters, water rides and more. If you’re looking for a bite, spoil yourself with a range of unique food and beverages that’ll enhance your experience.

RWG’s head of theme parks, Gregory Pearn said the park will also include rides that will be the first of its kind, but details about that will be revealed closer to the opening date.

You don’t have to worry about standing in long queues anymore, since Genting SkyWorlds has partnered with AliBaba to make use of virtual queue technology to pre-book your spots on rides and attractions.

Formerly known as 20th Century Fox World, Genting SkyWorlds will feature rides and attractions themed around films and franchises from 20th Century Fox, including Ice Age, Night at the Museum and Planet of the Apes. Pearn mentions that these worlds will be accompanied by original intellectual properties (IPs) from Genting as well.

Genting SkyWorlds adds that it will reveal more details about its star attractions and other details like ticket prices in the coming months and ensures it will be a one-time entry for unlimited rides.
