Former Convict Kidnaps & Beats Up Man For Having An Affair With His Wife While He Was In Prison

A man who was having an affair with a former convict’s wife, and who did not pay his debts, was beaten before being kidnapped by three individuals, including the husband of the wife, yesterday.

The 38-year-old victim got out of a Proton Wira at a traffic intersection at Jalan Sungai Nyior, Butterworth and started running and shouting for help. Someone witnessed the incident at 5:38 pm and took pictures and videos before lodging a police report, according to Harian Metro.

Seberang Perai Utara District Police Chief Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the witness who works as a clerk, was stopping at the traffic light intersection when she saw a man getting out of a car and shouting for help.

“The witness also said that shortly after, two more men got out of the car holding a rope. Both of them chased after the victim before catching him.

“Following the report, we conducted some surveillance before detaining three suspects, including the mastermind at 11:30pm the same night in a flat in Mak Mandin. The victim was also locked up at the location.

“We found the victim with his hands tied and with injuries on his head. The victim was taken to Kepala Batas Hospital (HKB) for treatment,” he said at a press conference today.

According to Noorzainy, the investigations found that the main suspect, a 40-year-old man, acted this way because he was angry that the victim had an affair with his 32-year-old wife when he was in prison. Besides the affair, the victim also hasn’t paid the RM2,300 he borrowed from the suspect’s wife.

“At the same time, the victim is also believed to have used the suspect’s wife’s name to make a loan from a loan shark, causing the suspect to become angrier,” he said.

Noorzainy also said that the main suspect, who was released from prison three months ago, together with two other suspects aged 24 and 25 years old, invited the victim to meet at a place. The main suspect pushed the victim to pay off the debts he owed and even took him to a bank to withdraw the money.

“However, the victim only had RM23 in his bank account. The angered main suspect then kidnapped the victim with the help of the two men involved,” he said. Noorzainy also said that a urine test shows that the three suspects were positive for drugs.

The main suspect, who has 12 previous criminal records along with two of his accomplice who have five and six previous records, are now remanded. Noorzainy said the case is being investigated under Section 367 of the Penal Code.
