Join an All-Female Creative Gathering & Learn About the Art of Communication at VENUS
Presented by arts and culture digital magazine Aliens R Us, VENUS is the website’s first instalment of events that aims to unite female creatives to inspire and be inspired. There’s a creative in landscape in Kuala Lumpur that Aliens R Us plans to broaden and shed light onto (our in-house sensei AOM included) through in-depth interviews aka “long ass conversations” about the local arts scene. VENUS is an expansion of what’s already been done on screen, and this upcoming collaboration with Sharina Shahrin is a female-centric creative workshop (RM90) plus talk (RM20) that’s all about strengthening the female bond via creativity. Shahrin – founder of Baju by Sharina alongside partner Azah Johari – will be sparing a few hours of her time to create art with participants and talk about how she uses abstract painting to maintain zen as an artist. On top of that, she will also be sharing details of her work in different aspects like social media engagement and community outreach while fans of her craft can spend some time to try on her batik garments on the day itself. Participants have an option of joining either the workshop or the talk but if you’re up for it, feel free to join both. Spots are limited to 40 for the talk and 15 for the art workshop, so get your tickets fast.
