Vivo V5s is the Selfie Smartphone to Choose – You Can Own It for Just RM1 or Even Free!
With as many as three articles espousing the various virtues of the Vivo V5s as the perfect smartphone for your selfie needs (here, here, and here), you probably don’t need any more convincing to purchase it. But if you’re still ambivalent about it, here’s another incentive; Digi’s and Maxis’ respective postpaid bundle plans include device packages for both V5s and Y55s that could get you either devices for just RM1, or even free!
Yep, you read that right, you could own either Vivo V5 or Y55s for free, namely if you opt for one of Digi’s postpaid plans. Coming in at 3 monthly commitment price points – RM78 (12GB internet + 6GB weekend internet), RM108 (18GB internet + 9GB weekend internet), RM138 (24GB internet + 12GB weekend internet) – and all including unlimited calls to all networks, while its priciest plan (RM138) might incur more monthly charges, it’s not only giving you the highest data quota but also either one of the two models free of charge. If your life is dependent on your social media game, we wager this is the plan for you.
Meanwhile, there aren’t any choices that come with a free phone in Maxis’ postpaid plans. However, almost all of its plans require you to pay just RM1 for either one of the devices. All with unlimited calls and SMS, for RM128 a month, you’d get 30GB’s worth of data quota, up to 30GB data pool for 3 lines, and the V5s priced at RM599. To get the device at just RM1, you can choose the RM158 plan, which includes 40GB’s worth of data quota and 40GB data pool for 4 lines, or the RM188 plan, which includes 50GB’s worth of data quota and 50GB data pool for 5 lines. As for its Y55s plans, they all only require you to pay RM1 for the device.
If you’re not already familiar with the V5s, it’s Vivo’s current generation of their #PerfectSelfie smartphone line whose spotlight is on what should really matter with all phones; the front camera. Although comparable to the Vivo V5 in many ways, this iteration has update its software as well as its Selfie Softlight feature, which gives the illusion of lighting effects similar to that of professional photography. The cheaper option, Y55s, has also received hardware update in its now-13MP rear camera, a major improvement over the normal Y55. Priced at RM1299 and RM799 respectively, which is relatively cheap for mid-tier smartphones, Vivo’s partnership with these two telco services makes them even more affordable.
Both telcos’ postpaid plans are only applicable to the two colours available for both devices – rose gold and crown gold.
