Rockin For The Environment
Hey everybody, it’s Earth Week! And to commemorate the occasion, local expatriate band Benchmarx together with Go International Group is organising a 2-day arts, music and educational festival over this weekend. Woohoo!
Titled Rockin For The Environment, musicians as well as NGOs and eco-friendly commercial organisations will each play a part in raising funds for the Orang Utan Appeal UK to help support and raise awareness about the plight of endangered Orang Utans.
The Doppelganger Open Mic Open Stage will have acoustic performances from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday by Benchmarx, Five States of Mind, Markisa and Peter Brown, Yuna, Ida Lisa, Wani Ardy, Maleena, George Wong, Funkcoustic, Crowd of None plus Jungle Drums and Percussions.
And here’s an interesting addition -Â JUICE has just intercepted a rogue transmission from ultra right-wing anti-environmentalists The Panda Head Curry? (See pic above). Apparently, the noise folk duo will be making a special appearance on Saturday at 5pm to “bring an end to all this hippie madness“. That could be interesting….
Rockin For The Environment is happening on Saturday 18 April and Sunday 19 April at Soho KL, South Atrium @ Solaris Mont Kiara. Join the fun and check out the gerai orang asli, adopt-an-orangutan, singer-songwriter acoustic performances and more! Entrance is free. More details at www.doppelgangerkl.blogspot.com.
